During my time at FIU, my global perspective, global awareness, and global engagement have all strengthened immensely. I have a better ability to take others' points of view and assumptions into consideration when making a decision. I have a better understanding on not only what is going on in the world today, but also how everything is interconnected. I also have a stronger desire to engage in local, global, international, and intercultural problem solving. It is important to understand that if you want to change the world, you must first understand the people, cultures and ideas that live within it. This is one of the most important lessons that I have learned. I plan to continue my involvement with the community by attending fundraisers and local events. I plan to continue developing my global awareness by traveling to new places and new countries and meeting with local people so I can learn about their culture's and their ways of life.
